Monticello, N.Y. – Today Helena Manzione, General Manager for WSUL/WVOS of Watermark Communications, presented a check in the amount of $60,000 to Rosemary Frado of Catskill Regional Medical Center. The amount represents 100% of the proceeds pledged and collected from last year’s 2011 WSUL/ WVOS Annual Heart-A-Thon that took place February 26. WSUL and WVOS both broadcasted live from the hospital for the entire event. The proceeds are committed to the Cardio Pulmonary Department at the hospital.

Over the last 33 years, the WSUL/WVOS Heart-A-Thon has raised over $1.6 million dollars in the name of “HEART HEALTH.” Since 2005 when Helena Manzione became General Manager of Watermark Communications, her focus has been to benefit the LOCAL hospital by presenting 100% of the proceeds to the Cardio Pulmonary Department at Catskill Regional Medical Center. The last 5 years’ totals are in excess of $360, 000 making it the LARGEST local fund raiser in Sullivan County’s history.

Next year’s WSUL/WVOS Heart-A-Thon will take place again at CRMC on Saturday, February 25 headed by Co-Chairs Alan Kesten of Yellow Cab and Roberta Byron Lockwood of the Sullivan County Visitors Association, and Paul Carlucci of the Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center.
