Catskill Regional Medical Group Now Offers Pulmonology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Services

Catskill Regional Medical Group (CRMG) now offers pulmonology, critical care and sleep medicine services.

Our expert group of Board-certified physicians Murali Krishna, MD, Aamir Gilani, MD, Samer El Zarif, MD and Karthika Linga, MD now provide their critical care, inpatient and outpatient pulmonary services at Catskill Regional Medical Center.

Murali G. Krishna, MD, FCCP

Murali G. Krishna, MD, FCCP is Board-certified in pulmonary-critical care. He also serves as Assistant Professor of Pulmonary and critical care medicine at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, NY.

Dr. Krishna holds Board certifications in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. In addition, Dr. Krishna is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the American Thoracic Society and Society of Critical Care Medicine.

An author of multiple publications and two books, Dr. Krishna received his medical degree from Madras Medical College in Chennai, India and graduated from the Internal Medicine Residency program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Additionally, he completed a Fellowship in pulmonary and critical care from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, Jacobi Medical Center and Jack D. Weiler Hospital in Bronx, NY.

Aamir Gilani, MD, MPH, FCCP

Aamir Gilani, MD, MPH, FCCP holds Board certifications in critical care, internal and pulmonary medicine and is Board eligible in preventive medicine. He also serves as an adjunct assistant professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, NY.

Dr. Gilani received his medical degree from the National University of Science and Technology in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He worked in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Department at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center as part of “Virtual Navigation Study” for patients with lung nodules. He completed a Residency and Fellowship from Pinnacle Health System, Harrisburg, PA. He also completed training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, in Lebanon, NH. In addition to his Fellowship, Dr. Gilani completed Residency training in “Leadership Preventive Medicine” at Dartmouth as well. He holds a Masters in Public Health degree from The Dartmouth Institute. He was actively involved in public health projects with “Breathe New Hampshire” to improve care of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Patients and has lean six sigma training.

Dr. Gilani is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine and American Association of Physician Leadership.

Samer El Zarif, MD

Samer El Zarif, MD holds Board certifications in internal, pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. He also serves as an adjunct assistant professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, NY.

Dr. El Zarif earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, at the American University of Beirut, before receiving his medical degree from the University of Balamand in Koura, Lebanon. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Staten Island University Hospital. He completed a Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine at the University of South Alabama, and was accepted for a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. During his training, he treated both adults and pediatric patients with complex sleep related medical disorders.

Dr. El Zarif is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Sleep Research Society.

Karthika R. Linga, MD

Karthika R. Linga, MD is the newest member of the pulmonary care team. He is Board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.

Dr. Linga graduated medical school from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University, India. He completed his training in internal medicine at Akron General Medical Center-Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in OH. He also served as an instructor for training medical students at Northeast Ohio College of Medicine. Dr. Linga trained in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Mayo Clinic, in FL and graduated in 2018. He is a member of American College of Chest Physicians and American Thoracic Society.
