December 9, 2015 – Middletown, NY – Izabela Nowosielski, MD, FHM has been appointed as Chief Medical Officer for the Greater Hudson Valley Health System Medical Group. Dr. Nowosielski is also Medical Director for the GHVHS Medical Group’s Hospitalist Program and has served as Director of Quality and Clinical Effectiveness for the Medical Group. The transition of Orange Regional Medical Center’s hospitalist services to the GHVHS Medical Group in September was a huge success and we have already seen several positive trends including a decrease in length of stay and hospital readmissions under Dr.  Nowosielski’s leadership. As Director of Quality and Clinical Effectiveness, Dr. Nowosielski has been a physician advocate and has implemented several key initiatives focused on communication, culture and operational improvements in support of the physician practice.

Dr. Nowosielski received her degree in Medicine from SUNY Downstate, Brooklyn, NY and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT. Prior to joining the GHVHS Medical Group, Dr. Nowosielski was Chief of Hospital Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, a 320-bed acute care teaching hospital located in Englewood, NJ, associated with Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

In her new role as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Nowosielski oversees the clinical affairs of GHVHS Medical Group and all Medical Group clinical leadership positions report to her. She will continue to facilitate the development of strategies related to vision, culture and performance expectations as well as professional development. She will work closely with the administrative team to ensure that strategies are aligned.
