CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER TO HOST BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DAY
October 9, 2013 – Harris, N.Y. – On October 28, 2013 Catskill Regional Medical Center, in conjunction with the Sullivan County Cancer Services Program, will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Day with an all day event. The event will be held at Catskill Regional Medical Center’s Harris Campus, 68 Harris-Bushville Road in Harris, Administrative Services Building, 2nd Floor, Boardrooms A & B from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Breast Cancer Awareness Day draws attention to breast cancer and the importance of screenings and education. Participants include Catskill Regional Oncology, Cancer Services, Radiology and Employee Health; Cancer Services Program of Sullivan County; American Cancer Society; Hudson Valley Cancer Resource Center; Ride 2 Survive; Sullivan County Public Health; Fantasy Wigs and Hudson Health. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with healthcare experts and representatives from local agencies.
Catskill Regional’s café will offer a special menu in honor of the day and raffles, prizes and giveaways will be offered. In addition, those that present proof of their mammogram during the month of October, bring a script from their doctor or schedule their appointment at the event will receive a free gift.
According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women and approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.
