Gerard Galarneau, M.D.
Gerard Galarneau, M.D. is President of the GHVHS Medical Group & Chief Medical Officer at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He is a talented clinician and surgeon with extensive training in urological conditions.
Dr. Galarneau is Board-certified in Urology and performs urological-related surgeries for Catskill Regional Medical Group patients. He has expertise in the treatment of all urologic cancers including prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancer.A graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton, he received his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla.
He completed his urology residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, where he was presented with the Norman E. Stoller M.D. Award for demonstrating devotion and dedication to patient care and for proficiency in urology.Dr. Galarneau is an active member of the American Urological Association and the Medical Society of Orange and Sullivan County.
Rafik Elsabrout, M.D.
Dr. Elsabrout earned his master’s degree in surgery, as well as his doctorate degree in surgery, from Cairo University in Egypt. Dr. Elsabrout is also an educator, having taught as an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at both New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, and Cairo University.
Dr. Elsabrout is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, United Kingdom. He is also a Member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
His list of memberships and committee appointments include: the Physician Advisory Committee at Westchester Medical Center; the Kidney Pancreas subcommittee of the New York Organ Donor Network; American Society of Transplant Surgeons; International Pediatric Transplantation Association; Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons; The Surgical Society of The New York Medical College and American Society of Transplantation.
Michelle Fontaine, M.D., FAAOS
Michelle Fontaine, M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in surgery of the hand and upper extremity. Dr. Fontaine is Board-certified in orthopedics by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery with a subspecialty certification in surgery of the hand.
Dr. Fontaine earned her medical degree from Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Md. completing both her orthopedic internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. Her hand surgery fellowship is from Walter Reed Army Medical Center/Union Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. She is the recipient of two Army Achievement medals and two Army Commendation medals recognizing her military service, which includes serving as an orthopedic surgeon for the 47th Combat Support Hospital stationed in Al Asad, Iraq. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Mikhail Itingen, D.O.
Dr. Itingen received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, and a Residency in orthopedic surgery at Peninsula Hospital Consortium in Far Rockaway, NY. Dr. Itingen is also a Health Science-certified Respiratory Therapist, and served as the full time respiratory therapist on staff at Brookdale Medical Health Center in Brooklyn, NY.
In addition, Dr. Itingen is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the American Orthopaedic Association.
Eric L. Martin, M.D., FAAOS, FAAHKS
Eric L. Martin, M.D. is board certified in orthopedics by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the New York State PBA Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, American Medical Association, New York State Orthopaedic Society, Orange County Medical Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Martin earned his medical degree from New York University, completed both his general surgery internship and his residency at Stony Brook University in addition to his reconstructive joint surgery fellowship from Rush University/St. Luke’s Medical Center & Central DuPage Hospital in Chicago, Ill. He has held academic appointments as clinical assistant professor at New York University/Hospital for Joint Diseases, Stony Brook University and Touro Medical College in Middletown, N.Y.
Abdul Shahzad, M.D.
Abdul Shahzad, M.D. is a General Surgeon and performs vascular, thoracic and laparoscopic surgeries for Catskill Regional Medical Group patients. A certified Wound Care Specialist, he is also the Director of Department of Surgery, Director of Trauma and Co-Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Catskill Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Shahzad received his medical degree from Technical University of Santiago in the Dominican Republic and performed his surgical residency at Lincoln Hospital and Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in New York City. Dr. Shahzad is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and liaison for the American Cancer Society.
Maribeth Widas, P.A.
Maribeth Widas, P.A. is a Board-certified licensed Physician Assistant with over 18 years of experience. She completed her Physician Assistant program at Stony Brook University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Manhattan College. Ms. Widas works under the supervision of Dr. Gerard Galarneau.
