December 16, 2009 - Harris, N.Y. - Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is pleased to welcome four hematologists/oncologists and a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) to its Hematology/Oncology department, located at the Harris Campus on the second floor of the Ambulatory Services Building. Robert Dinsmore, MD; Gnonamba Kondagunta, MD; Soe Maunglay, MD; Manuel Perry, MD and Heidi Pavese, FNP-C join CRMC's skilled cancer care staff of professionals including licensed practical nurses and certified registered nurses. CRMC Chief Executive Officer Steven Ruwoldt stated: "The additions of Drs. Dinsmore, Kondagunta, Maunglay, Perry and Nurse Practitioner Heidi Pavese to our Physician Services and the Hematology/Oncology department are a positive addition to our Cancer Care Program. Overall we feel this helps address a health care need in the communities we serve." Robert Dinsmore, MD received his medical degree from the University of Chicago in Illinois and furthered his training at Albert Einstein and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He currently serves as Medical Director of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties and is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society, Orange County Division. Dr. Dinsmore is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Hematology, Hospice and Palliative Care. Gnonamba Kondagunta, MD received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York. She completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Kondagunta completed a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she served on staff as an attending physician in the Genitourinary Medical Oncology division. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. Soe Maunglay, MD received his Medical Degree from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey. He completed an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago/Christ Medical Center in Illinois and a Fellowship in Hematology Oncology. Manuel Perry, MD received his medical degree and completed his training in Internal Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Ma. He completed his training in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Perry joined the Oncology Division of Crystal Run Healthcare in 1994 and is Director of the Oncology Clinical Trials Program. Dr. Perry is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society, Orange County Division and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology. Heidi Pavese, FNP-C received her MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Stony Brook University in New York. Before moving to the Hematology/Oncology department, she most recently worked at CRMC as an Emergency Room Nurse and as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Cancer Care at CRMC includes a well-developed oncology program that offers a multidisciplinary team approach combined with quality care. The program continues to be distinguished by the excellent, compassionate care provided to its patients.
