CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES VISITOR RESTRICTIONS TO PROTECT PATIENTS - 11/11/2009

November 10, 2009 - Harris, N.Y. - Catskill Regional Medical Center, Sullivan County's premier provider of health care services, announces temporary restrictions on hospital visitations to protect patients from influenza. Children under age 18 will not be permitted to visit patients. Further, visitors should not come to the hospital if they have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose. If a visitor is exhibiting any of these symptoms they will be asked to leave the facility. Only two visitors are allowed in a patient's room at one time. Additionally, Catskill Regional requests that visitors either sanitize or wash their hands before entering and after leaving a patient's room. Hand sanitizers are available at hospital entrances and other locations throughout the facility. The new restrictions were developed in accordance with guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control.
