Expanded Sunday lab hours and new dress code latest advances

July 9, 2009 - Harris, N.Y. - Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC), Sullivan County's premier provider of health care services, is continuing to focus on customer service by expanding its laboratory hours and introducing a new dress code for staff. The CRMC Laboratory, located at the Seelig Division in Harris, will now offer its services Sundays from 8 a.m. - noon. Services include blood draws as well as specimen collection and processing. The CRMC Laboratory at the Seelig Division is also open Monday - Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon. CRMC also offers laboratory services at the Grover M. Hermann Division in Callicoon, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. - noon. The new dress code will apply to all CRMC staff and is aimed at providing a professional, neat and clean image for patients, their families and visitors. CRMC personnel in clinical areas of the hospital with direct patient contact can be identified by the color of the scrubs they wear. Staff members assigned to non-clinical areas of the hospital, without direct patient contact, are required to dress in appropriate business attire as defined in the new policy. "Each of these initiatives will enhance customer service at CRMC," stated Steve Ruwoldt, CRMC's Chief Executive Officer. "The expanded laboratory hours will accommodate patients who find it difficult to schedule appointments during the week. The new dress code emphasizes our professional image. Our staff represents the hospital and our customers should expect the staff to look and act professionally." The Catskill Regional Medical Center Department of Laboratory Medicine is fully accredited by the College of American Pathology (CAP), the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), and The Joint Commission, and is licensed by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
