Monticello, NY -- January 25, 2012 -- The 34th ANNUAL WSUL/ WVOS HEART-A-THON will take place Saturday, February 25th at the Catskill Regional Medical Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both WSUL 98.3 /95.7 and WVOS 95.9 / 105.7 will broadcast live from the hospital for the entire event. This year’s WSUL/WVOS HEART-A-THON co-chairs are Alan Kesten of Yellow Cab, Roberta Byron Lockwood of the Sullivan County Visitors Association and Paul Carlucci of the Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center.
Over the last 33 years, the WSUL/WVOS HEART-A-THON has raised over $1.6 million dollars in the name of “HEART HEALTH” making it the largest local fundraiser in Sullivan County’s history. To benefit the local hospital WSUL/WVOS has presented 100% of the proceeds to the Cardio Pulmonary Department at Catskill Regional Medical Center. Each year funds are earmarked for a particular piece of support equipment. This year the focus is on wireless bedside heart monitoring systems.
Listeners can participate on the day of the WSUL/WVOS HEART-A-THON by making a pledge by calling (845) 794-9898 or in person by visiting the Catskill Regional Medical Center during the live broadcast at the Garden Level Food Court. During the weeks leading up to the event donations are made by buying a heart at any one of the many participating locations around the county. For the first time this year, pledges can be made online on the Sullivan County Visitors Association’s website SCVA.net.
