December 17, 2010 - Harris, N.Y. - The Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) Radiology Department has been re-accredited for a three-year term in Nuclear Medicine based on a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR awards accreditation to hospitals for achieving high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation. The accreditation requires thorough evaluations by board-certified physicians, technologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Additionally, the equipment used must meet strict and rigid guidelines as outlined by the ACR. CRMC's Nuclear Medical Service provides a complete range of organ scanning as well as nuclear cardiology imaging. The department utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and provides cardiac imaging under the direction of a team of board-certified cardiologists. CRMC's technologists are board certified and have specialized training for both cardiac and organ scanning. Imaging results are communicated to physicians within 24 hours for routine studies, and same day for nuclear cardiology studies. Studies may be scheduled from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling 845-794-3300 ext. 2233.
