October 28, 2010 - Harris, N.Y. - Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) recently received a $50,000 donation from the 32nd Annual WSUL/WVOS Heart-a-Thon, which was held earlier this year. The contribution will go toward purchasing state-of-the-art telemetry equipment, which will be used to enhance the CRMC's Cardio-Pulmonary Department. On Monday, Oct. 25, CRMC Chief Executive Officer Steven Ruwoldt and Community Services Director Jodi Goodman received a check from 2010 Heart-a-Thon co-chairs Jacquie Leventoff and Howard Braunstein, Heart-a-Thon committee member and past chair Les Kristt, 2011 Heart-a-Thon co-chair Alan Kesten, WSUL/WVOS sales representative Mark Sieczek and WSUL/WVOS General Manager Helena Manzione. The WSUL/WVOS Heart-a-Thon is the primary contributor toward CRMC's new Telemetry system, which provides wireless bedside monitoring between a central station and patient, and continuous surveillance for ambulatory cardiac patients. "We thank WSUL and WVOS for all of the hard work they have done," said Ruwoldt. "The Heart-a-Thon is always a great event and a huge benefit for the hospital. This contribution enables us to purchase state-of-the-art equipment that will be used to continue advancing patient care in our community." "WSUL and WVOS are pleased to contribute to our community hospital," said Manzione. "Each year, the event continues to grow and the community really gets involved. We are looking forward to another successful event next year." The 2011 WSUL/WVOS Heart-a-Thon will take place on Saturday, Feb. 26 at CRMC.
