CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER PRESS ROOM

CRMC ANNOUNCES OSTEOPOROSIS SUPPORT GROUP SESSION - 08/30/2010

Next session scheduled on Sept. 21

Aug. 30, 2010 - Harris, N.Y. - Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) announced today its next free osteoporosis support group session will be held on Sept. 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the CRMC Women's Health Center at 60 Jefferson Street, Suite 1, Monticello, N.Y. The group sessions, held quarterly, offer advice, encouragement and education to osteoporosis patients. Osteoporosis causes bones to become thin, weak and break easily. Called the "silent disease," osteoporosis affects people of all ages and is difficult to diagnose. CRMC's osteoporosis support group provides patients with the latest information about the disease and provides a unique forum for patients to discuss strategies to manage osteoporosis. The support group is led by one of CRMC's highly experienced nurse practitioners, and complements the wide range of services and advanced technology that CRMC offers Sullivan County and its surrounding communities. Diane Primevera, FNP leads the support group. She has been with CRMC since 1977 and is a nurse practitioner at the Women's Health Center, specializing in primary care and women's health. No registration is necessary. For more information, please call the Women's Health Center at 845-794-7897.
