First session scheduled on May 26
May 6, 2010 - Harris, N.Y. - Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) announced today it will host a free osteoporosis support group. The group sessions, to be held quarterly, will offer advice, encouragement and education to osteoporosis patients. The first session will be on Wednesday, May 26 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the CRMC Women's Health Center at 60 Jefferson Street, Suite 1, Monticello, N.Y.
Osteoporosis causes bones to become thin, weak and break easily. Called the "silent disease," osteoporosis affects people of all ages and is difficult to diagnose.
CRMC's osteoporosis support group will provide patients with the latest information about the disease and provide a unique forum for patients to discuss strategies to manage osteoporosis. The support group will complement the wide range of services that CRMC offers Sullivan County and its surrounding communities.
Diane Primevera, FNP will lead the support group. She has been with CRMC since 1977 and is a highly experienced nurse practitioner at the Women's Health Center, specializing in primary care and women's health.
