WSUL/WVOS 33RD ANNUAL HEART-A-THON RAISES MORE THAN $62,000 FOR CRMC—03/01/2011
March 1, 2011 – Harris, N.Y. – WSUL/WVOS raised $62,877 for Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) on Saturday, February 26, during the 33rd annual Heart-a-thon, which broadcasted live from the hospital’s garden level café.
“CRMC really appreciates all of WVOS/WSUL’s efforts in putting together this event,” said J.P. McGuirk, CRMC’s Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “The Heart-a-thon is a massive undertaking, and it involves a lot of people donating their time and money. We are so grateful to have such great partners.”
The funds raised from this year’s event will be used to purchase a computerized tomographic angiography (CTA) software package for CRMC’s 64-Slice CT Scanner, which can non-invasively assess the arteries and veins in most parts of the body, including the heart. The software uses x-rays that obtain multiple sectional images which are then reconstructed into three-dimensional pictures.
Contributions to the Heart-a-thon are still being accepted. To make a contribution, send a check or money order to WVOS/WSUL Heart-a-thon, Box 628, Monticello, NY 12701.
