GREATER HUDSON VALLEY HEALTH SYSTEM ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP PROMOTIONS IN QUALITY – 12/15/14
Middletown, NY – The Greater Hudson Valley Health System (GHVHS), comprised of Catskill Regional Medical Center and Orange Regional Medical Center, is pleased to announce promotions to its Quality leadership.
Fred Conklin, RN, BSN, CPHQ has been promoted to GHVHS Director of Quality Services. Mr. Conklin joined Orange Regional’s Quality department in 2006 as Clinical Project Coordinator. In 2012, he took on the role of Director of Quality for Catskill Regional Medical Center. Mr. Conklin has enhanced the performance improvement and patient safety programs at Catskill Regional, including implementation of a more robust physician peer review process, oversight of accreditation activities, and enhancing the Hospital’s culture safety through New York State Partnership for Patient Safety (NYSPFP) projects. He has facilitated successful implementation of the Blue Cross-Blue Shield Q-Hip Program, ensuring maximum reimbursement to Catskill Regional. In his new role, Mr. Conklin will provide leadership for the system-wide performance improvement activities for both Orange Regional and Catskill Regional Medical Centers.
Mr. Conklin obtained his Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Orange County Community College, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing. He is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Rachel Roeber RN, BSN, CPHQ has been promoted to GHVHS Director of Clinical Documentation Improvement and DRG Optimization. Ms. Roeber joined Orange Regional in 2010 as a Quality Nurse Specialist and took the lead in several areas including liaison for the Greater New York Hospital Association’s Perinatal Collaborative and facilitator for performance improvement initiatives in the Perioperative surgical areas. Ms. Roeber then held the position of Director of Quality Services, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of the Performance Improvement Program at Orange Regional.
In her new role, Ms. Roeber will oversee a system-wide team of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (CDIS) and conduct pre and post-coding reviews of patient mortalities and hospital acquired conditions (HACs).
Ms. Roeber obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from SUNY Delhi. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), a member of the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Kelly Roth RN, OCN has been promoted to GHVHS Manager, Regulatory and Patient Safety. Ms. Roth’s scope of responsibility includes the coordination of accreditation activities and compliance with external agencies including the Joint Commission, CMS and NYSDOH, across all GHVHS facilities. Ms. Roth will also work with leaders and staff on initiatives to enhance the culture of patient safety.
Ms. Roth has been a member of the Orange Regional Medical Center staff since 2008, initially working as an RN in the inpatient and outpatient oncology areas, and then taking on the role of Manager, Regulatory and Patient Safety in 2013. She obtained her Associate of Science degree in Applied Science in Nursing from SUNY Orange, and is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science Degree at Drexel University. Ms. Roth is a Certified Oncology Nurse (OCN) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
