CRMC OFFERING FREE CANCER SCREENINGS DURING COLORECTAL CANCER AWARENESS MONTH—03/07/2011
March 7, 2011 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC), in conjunction with the Sullivan County Cancer Services Program, is raising awareness of colorectal cancer in March by offering free colorectal cancer screenings to eligible men and women over the age of 50.
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal cancer is the second most deadly cancer for both men and women. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most of these deaths could be prevented if everyone over the age of 50 got screened for colorectal cancer. There are often no signs or symptoms of colorectal cancer, and if left undiagnosed or undetected, the cancer can spread throughout the body.
CRMC and the Sullivan County Cancer Services Program are offering a free gas card to the first 25 eligible individuals that complete a screening. Please contact LaToya Lawrence at 845-794-3300 ext. 2115 to see if you are eligible and to make an appointment.
