CRMC CELEBRATES NATIONAL MEDICAL LABORATORY PROFESSIONALS WEEK – 4/23/2014
April 23, 2014 – Harris, NY – Catskill Regional Medical Center is proud to celebrate National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, April 20-26. Catskill Regional recognizes its Laboratory professionals and celebrates their dedication as a crucial member of the healthcare team and collaboration toward improving patient care and outcomes.
In addition to Catskill Regional Laboratory’s quality performance, the department is entrenched in supporting the community by participating in local fundraisers, conducting food drives on behalf of the United Way, supporting the Red Cross disaster relief efforts and by providing Easter baskets and holiday gifts to community members in need. Their most recent outreach effort provided warm fleece blankets to Catskill Regional’s Skilled Nursing Unit residents as well as Adult Day Care visitors. Catskill Regional’s monthly blood drives are also organized by the Laboratory department.
“I salute our outstanding Laboratory professionals and all laboratory teams across the nation working together to provide accurate results for patients. Precise diagnosis is an integral part of the larger patient care team, directly contributing to preserving and enhancing patients’ lives,” said Dr. Nader Okby, MD, FCAP, Greater Hudson Valley Health System Laboratory Medical Director.
From small practices in rural towns to metropolitan hospitals, more than 300,000 medical laboratory professionals deliver accurate test results every day and serve as part of the health care team to guide and assess patients’ ongoing treatment and care. Laboratory professionals perform and supervise tests that lead to the detection of potential health problems; the sooner a disease is caught, the likelihood increases for a positive outcome.
A member of the Greater Hudson Valley Health System, Catskill Regional Medical Center is dedicated to providing the highest quality health care to residents in the Sullivan County region. For more information about Catskill Regional, please call 845-794-3300 or visit www.crmcny.org.
