CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER’S ONCOLOGY DEPARTMENT RECEIVES HOPE BAGS -4/22/14

Allyson Whitney 5k Race Shares Proceeds for Cancer Patients

Harris, NY –Catskill Regional Medical Center’s Oncology Department is a proud recipient of the 2014 Allyson Whitney 5k fundraising event. A portion of the proceeds raised by the 5k race will provide HOPE bags to oncology patients. The HOPE bags, valued at approximately $75 each, will vary in product and may contain a comfort blanket, hydration drinks, gourmet lollipops, teas, aromatherapy oils, lip balm and body crèmes. The items in the bag were chosen to ease the side effects of treatment cancer patients often experience.

The 5k race will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kauneonga Lake Firefighter’s Pavilion 3594 New York Route 55, in Kauneonga Lake. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and the race begins at 10:00 a.m. Registration fee includes pre-race breakfast and post-race barbeque lunch. All pre-registered attendees will receive a race t-shirt and a swag bag. Registration for adults is $30 and $12 for children 12 and under.

Catskill Regional is supporting this fundraising event with a sponsorship and selling raffle tickets with chances to win Bethel Woods season passes; Tiffany Jewelry; ski passes for Holiday Mt.; a Kindle; basket of cheer and more.  Tickets can be purchased in the Community Services Office located in the Ambulatory Surgery Building on the Harris Campus. Packets of sunflowers seeds and HOPE bracelets will also be on sale.
