CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER RECEIVES $40,000 FROM WSUL/WVOS HEART-A-THON – 12/10/2009
December 10, 2009 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is the recipient of a $40,000 donation from the 31st Annual WSUL/WVOS Heart-a-Thon, which was held earlier this year. The contribution will be used to enhance CRMC’s Cardio-Pulmonary Department. On Thursday, Dec. 3, CRMC Chief Executive Officer Steven Ruwoldt and Community Services Director Jodi Goodman were presented with a check from 2009 Heart-a-Thon co-chairs Jacquie Leventoff, of Kohl’s Department Stores, and Howard Braunstein, of M&M Auto Group, Heart-a-Thon committee member Les Kristt, and WSUL/WVOS sales representative Mark Seiczek and General Manager Helena Manzione. Ruwoldt stated, “This gracious gift from WSUL/WVOS represents a step forward in advancing patient care in the communities we serve. Our Cardio-Pulmonary Department will benefit tremendously from these proceeds, and will be used toward purchasing new state-of-the-art equipment.” Manzione added, “WSUL/WVOS is deeply committed to Sullivan County and Catskill Regional Medical Center. Year after year, we have raised tens of thousands of dollars toward CRMC’s Cardio-Pulmonary Department for new technology and we look forward to working toward the cause again next year.” The $40,000 gift will be used toward the purchase of a new Telemetry system, which provides wireless bedside monitoring between a central station and patient, and continuous surveillance for ambulatory cardiac patients. In addition to this gift, CRMC’s Auxiliary recently raised $26,000, which is also being used toward the purchase of the equipment. Additional donations are still being accepted. Please make checks payable to WSUL/WVOS Heart-A-Thon, P.O. Box 628, Monticello, NY, 12701.
