CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER LAUNCHES TELEBURN SERVICES – 11/04/13
November 4, 2013 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department and its Grover M. Hermann Hospital’s Emergency Department, in partnership with Lehigh Valley Burn Center, now offers Teleburn service. Through computer based technology, Emergency Department physicians are in direct and immediate contact to consult with the Lehigh Valley Burn Center’s specialists 24 hours a day, seven days a week to treat burn victims. Catskill Regional Medical Center facilities are the first in New York State to offer Teleburn services.
The new Teleburn network establishes a real-time visual link between facilities. Through a secure website, photos of burn injuries are uploaded where a burn specialist at Lehigh Valley can accurately assess the extent and severity of a burn and determine and or advise the best course of treatment.
“Rapid, accurate diagnosis and a proper treatment plan are crucial for burn patients,” says Catskill Regional’s Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Rolland Bojo. “Providing this service furthers our mission of bringing high-quality, accessible healthcare to the communities we serve.”
Lehigh Valley Regional Burn Center is one of 58 Burn Centers nationwide verified by the American Burn Association and American College of Surgeons to care for adults and children with burn injuries.
