CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER HOSTS “EAT HEALTHY. MOVE MORE. BE WELL.” EVENT – 9/12/2014
Harris, NY – Catskill Regional Medical Center will host a community event for Sullivan County on Wednesday, September 17, called “Eat Healthy. Move More. Be Well.” The event is open to the staff and public and will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Hospital café in conjunction with its exclusive food and nutrition services provider, Morrison Healthcare and in partnership with Sullivan County Public Health Services.
“Catskill Regional is committed to the health and wellness of our community,” said Catskill Regional Medical Center CEO Dr. Gerard Galarneau. “We are proud to partner with vendors who support our mission and am pleased to be part of hosting a fun and healthy event.”
The purpose of the event is to promote healthy food and exercise. Additionally, Morrison Healthcare will conduct a healthy cooking demonstration with Chef Peter Newman and provide a life-sized bicycle powered smoothie machine which café visitors and guests can use fresh ingredients to make individual smoothies. The event also kicks off a weekly Farmer’s Market offering local, fresh fruit and vegetables that will be located in the hospital’s café and available for purchase. The Farmer’s Market will be held in the hospital’s café every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through November 5.
