February 8, 2016 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center has announced the 38th Annual WSUL/WVOS Heart-A-Thon that will take place at The Sullivan Hotel on Saturday, February 13. Funds raised at this year’s event will help support the ongoing transformation of Catskill Regional.

“The Heart-A-Thon is a meaningful event that showcases the commitment of the community to our hospital, just as our staff is dedicated to improving the health of our community,” said Catskill Regional CEO & CMO, Dr. Gerard Galarneau.

The event will broadcast live from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with all pledges being read on air. At 11:00 a.m., an hour will be dedicated to the memory of Lee Siegel, who was a driving force of support in the local community throughout his life. At 12:00 p.m., an hour will be dedicated solely to Catskill Regional with guest hosts Catskill Regional CEO & CMO, Dr. Galarneau and Focus Media President and CEO, Josh Sommers.

In addition to the telethon, attendees of the event will have the opportunity to listen to guest speakers, receive information and tips about heart health and participate in various health care demonstrations.

Listeners will be able to express support by calling in their pledge. Tribute hearts are also being sold at multiple locations throughout the community in honor or in memory of loved ones who have been afflicted with cardiac related conditions. Donation hearts are available for purchase at both $1.00 and $10.00 levels.
The 2016 event chairs include Bethel Woods Marketing Manager, Julie Kaufman, PN Fire and Burglar Alarm Co., Inc., Jared Kaufman and Sullivan Renaissance Assistant Director, Denise Frangipane.

“We are very excited to once again partner with the local community another year for this fantastic event,” said Heart-A-Thon Chair, Julie Kaufman. “This year’s funds will continue to support the transformation of Catskill Regional. This includes upgraded cardio gym equipment for Rehabilitation, a sonic ultrasound for the Grover M. Hermann Hospital, in Callicoon, and GE SonoSite and Central Monitoring System technologies to supplement existing telemetry equipment.”
