CATSKILL REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER HOLDS EMS RECOGNITION AND EDUCATION EVENT – 05/31/2011
May 31, 2011 – Harris, N.Y. – Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) and Catskill Regional Emergency Physician Services, PLLC, an affiliate of MedExcel USA, Inc., held a recognition and education event for local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies on May 18 at the Garden Level Café of CRMC’s main Harris campus. The event coincided with National EMS Week, which was May 15 to 21.
The well-attended event recognized the significant contributions made by EMS agencies throughout the region, and honored their dedication and commitment to protecting community members in Sullivan County and its surrounding communities. The Upper Delaware, Cochecton, Rock Hill, MobileMedic, American Legion, and the towns of Liberty, Roscoe and Hudson ambulance services participated in the event.
Rosemary Frado, CRMC Interim Chief Executive Officer, opened the program with words of appreciation and thanked the EMS members for all of their hard work and dedication to the community. Carlos Holden, MD, FACEP, and Chip Dunham, BS, RN, CCRN, followed with a presentation on pediatric emergencies. The CRMC team is planning additional education forums for EMS teams throughout the year.
CRMC is currently building an expanded Emergency Department (ED). The new ED will more than double the size of the existing unit and will provide EMS teams with a dedicated charting room and covered ambulance bays.
