Eat Healthy Eat Local Initiative

Catskill Regional Medical Center's Sullivan County Eat Healthy, Eat Local Initiative A new restaurant initiative sponsored by Catskill Regional Medical Center partnering with the Sullivan County Visitors Association and the Sullivan County Department of Public Health.

Join the Initiative:

We are encouraging Sullivan County restaurants to join and support this initiative by working with our team to select menu offerings that would meet basic healthy criteria using locally sourced ingredients.

What is Locally Sourced?

Locally sourced represents an alternative to the global food model, a model  which often sees food traveling long distances before it reaches the consumer. A local food network involves relationships between food producers, distributors and consumers; and in turn, supports local vendors and businesses right here in Sullivan County.

How Do I Participate?
As a Restaurant Owner:

Beginning in early 2016, our team will be accepting names of restaurants for consideration in this exciting program. Establishments that are interested in
participating and meeting the criteria will receive a designated logo to proudly display in their restaurant(s), as well as to utilize in advertising. Our Healthy Bike emblem will easily identify establishments as active participants in the program. Additionally, the Sullivan County Visitors Association (SCVA) will support the initiative by providing promotions utilizing SCVA social media. Restaurants will also be included in the 2017 SCVA Travel Guide.

As a Consumer:

Look for the Healthy Bike logo displayed in the advertising and windows of local
eating establishments. By supporting these businesses, you know that you are availing yourself of healthy dining options as well as supporting the local Sullivan County area.
