FAQs
How do I enter the program?
Before you begin the program, it is necessary for you to have a stress test. Information from this stress test is the basis for your individual exercise prescription. Our cardiologists will also perform a comprehensive cardiac evaluation before you start. The program usually runs for 12 weeks.
How often should I exercise?
Three sessions a week is the minimal amount of exercise that will benefit the cardiovascular system. Remember, it's important to be consistent. If you are ill and cannot make the session, please call. We care about your heath.
What is the aerobic exercise program?
Coronary artery disease weakens your heart. The aerobic exercise program can enhance your heart's ability to function strongly and efficiently. Your commitment to a regular aerobic program strengthens your heart muscle, making it contract more forcibly. Any activity using large muscle groups (such as walking, cycling, swimming, rowing, skipping, jumping rope) for an extended period of time will increase the heart rate. Your target heart rate/upper limit during exercise is determined by data from your stress test.
How can I monitor my progress?
The response of your heart rate to exercise will be evaluated periodically. As your heart rate begins to fall within your target zone we adjust your exercise prescription. We carefully monitor your progress by measuring the following:
* Your heart rate at rest and while exercising
* Your exercise capacity
* Your blood pressure at rest, with stimulus and after cool down
* Your weekly body weight
